Summer visit methods to the Maremma Park: active from Monday 24 June

ATTENTION: DURING THE SUMMER PERIOD MOST OF THE PARK’S ITINERARIES ARE ONLY USABLE WITH A GUIDE.

From Monday 24 June the regulation against forest fires is active, so most of the routes can only be done with a guide and by reservation.

However, some itineraries remain to be enjoyed independently, after purchasing a ticket at the Alberese visitor center (via del Bersagliere 7/9) which from 24 June will extend its opening hours: 8.30am-5pm.

*Every weekend in June the shuttle to Marina di Alberese and Pinottolai (start of itineraries) from Alberese and Rispescia is active.

San Rabano Stories of monks and woodcutters

Stories of monks and legends of hidden treasures characterize the splendid Abbey of San Rabano, built in the Middle Ages on the Uccellina hills. An excursion to the places once frequented by woodcutters and charcoal burners up to the remains of the monastic complex which was once grandiose and powerful

Cala di Forno – The beach between the two cliffs

An articulated route through pine forest, centuries-old olive groves, Mediterranean scrub and cliffs overlooking the sea to reach the most famous beach in the Park: Cala di Forno. A corner of paradise enclosed between two cliffs often frequented by wild animals.

Sunset in Collelungo

The crashing of the waves on the shoreline below the Collelungo Tower as the sun sets to give way to the starry sky, among the scents of resins and rosemary, birdsong and sudden rustles. These are the sunsets in Maremma and the nights in the Park, where everything takes on the magical contours of a place out of time.

At night in San Rabano

A special excursion that allows you to reach the ruins of the Abbey towards sunset and thus enjoy a magical light for the visit.

The return will therefore take place at night, surrounded by the sounds of the forest which will make the experience truly unique.

It is recommended to bring a torch.

The Baia delle Cannelle

From the Roman cisterns of Talamone to the suggestive ridge of Punta del Corvo the path enters the holm oak forest and then descends, among garrigues of rock roses and rosemary, to the Cannelle bay, where you can refresh yourself in the beautiful crystal clear waters.

Night at the wildlife park

A few steps from Alberese, after a hot summer day, the centuries-old oak forest becomes an ideal and welcoming place to relax while observing the starry sky and trying to identify the sounds and signs left by its inhabitants.

Easy route, also suitable for families with children. Bring a flashlight.

Aperitif in Collelungo

A splendid opportunity to enjoy an exceptional sunset on one of the wildest beaches in Tuscany. A short path allows you to reach the Collelungo tower and enjoy the sunset from one

of the most beautiful panoramic points in the area. We will then go down to the now deserted beach to take a nice swim while an aperitif based on wine and local products will be set up. The excursion continues with a short night walk to enjoy the sounds and scents of the night in the pine forest. Minimum age required: 14 years

Toast at the Castelmarino tower to enjoy the sunset and then reach the beach for a night swim. Flashlight in hand, the excursion continues in the pine forest, where numerous wild animals live.

San Rabano with the historian or archaeologist

Discovering the monastery of San Rabano with a guide graduated in art history or archeology to better appreciate the historical-artistic aspects of the abbey built by the Benedictines, a naturalistic context of unparalleled beauty.

Torre Bassa e il Castello di Collecchio

A short route suitable for everyone among fields, olive groves and woods in the central part of the Uccellina Mountains. Torre Bassa, ruined and majestic, tells of distant times when the wonderful and inhospitable Maremma coasts were the object of raids by pirates and corsairs. The last part of the route passes next to enclosures of Maremma cattle that live in the wild in the beautiful nature of Collecchio.

Full moon in a canoe

Lulled by the waters of the river, you paddle surrounded only by the sounds of nature, waiting for the sun, descending below the horizon, to color the sky red and give way to the silvery rays of the moon.

A canoe visit without any difficulty suitable for everyone!

Comfortable clothing, water and a snack are recommended!
