Simone Rusci was appointed President of the Maremma Park with the Decree of the President of the Tuscany Regional Council n.80 of 13 May 2022, after a five-year experience as Councilor under the presidency of Lucia Venturi.
Since 2022 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Federparchi-Europarc and since 2023 he has also been a member of the Scientific Committee.
Graduated with honors in Architecture from the University of Florence in 2008, Simone Rusci obtained a PhD in Sciences and Methods of the European City and Territory in 2013 from the University of Pisa where, since 2019, he has been Professor of Technique and Planning urban planning.
He carries out research and teaching activities in the field of urban and territorial planning, with particular interest in the interactions between economic processes and spatial organisation. On this topic he is the author of books and scientific articles published in national and international journals. He is involved in research projects with Italian universities (Polytechnic University of Milan, University of Milan Bicocca) and European universities (Université de la Cote d’Azur, Universität Wien, Chalmers Tekniska Högskola). He is a reviewer of numerous scientific journals and a member of the editorial board of the journal Archivio di Studi Urbani e Regionali.
Member of the Order of Architects of the Province of Grosseto, Simone Rusci is also a member of the Italian Association of Regional Sciences, the Italian Society of Urban Planners and the Italian Society of Estimation and Evaluation.
