Mode of summer visit to the Maremma Park: active from Monday 26 June

ATTENTION: DURING THE SUMMER PERIOD MOST OF THE ITINERARIES OF THE PARK CAN ONLY BE USED WITH A GUIDE. CONSULT THE SUMMER RULES OR CALL THE VISITOR CENTER +39 0564 393238 OR +39 0564 407098.

Since 26 June, the discipline against forest fires, imposed by the Tuscany Region, has been active, so most of the routes can be carried out only with a guide and by reservation.

However, some itineraries remain to be enjoyed independently, upon purchase of the ticket at the Alberese visitor center (via del bersagliere 7/9 hours 8.30-18.00).

Also from 1 July, the shuttle will be active from Alberese to Alberese Mare and back.

Monday

San Rabano – A1

If, as San Bernardino wrote, “… you find something more in the woods than in books”, the forest that surrounds the ruins of the monastery of San Rabano has a lot to tell.

From a place of silence and solitude, necessary for prayer, to the silvicultural management of forests, are the elements of interest to be rediscovered along the path leading to the Abbey.

Tuesday

Cala di Forno

We will go to Cala di Forno crossing a path covered with Mediterranean scrub, the long but not particularly difficult route offers panoramic views of rare beauty.Once arrived at the cove, there will be time to enjoy its beauties, the fine golden sand which takes on a color tending towards white under the summer sun and the sea which is almost always calm and crystalline thanks to its sheltered position.

To frame this wild place there is an ancient customs house and the medieval watchtower of Cala di Forno which can be glimpsed above the promontory at the top of the cove, making this place even more picturesque.

Wednesday

At night in the heart of the Park

The breaking of the waves on the shoreline below the Collelungo Tower as the sun sets to give way to the starry sky, amidst the scents of resins and rosemary, birdsong and sudden rustling. This is the night in the Park, where everything takes on the magical contours of a place out of time.

Thursday

Night in San Rabano

A special excursion that allows you to reach the ruins of the Abbey towards sunset and thus enjoy a light magical for the visit. The return will take place at night, surrounded by the sounds of the forest that will make the experience truly unique.

Saturday

Talamone e la baia delle Cannelle

From the Roman cisterns of Talamone to the suggestive ridge of Punta del Corvo and the beautiful bay of Cannelle. The path alternates between stretches of holm oak and cyst and rosemary garrigue with a view of the splendid views of the coast and islands, until it descends to the Cannelle bay where you can cool off with a pleasant dip in its crystal clear waters.

Night visit to the fauna

A few steps from Alberese, after a hot summer day, the centuries-old oak forest becomes an ideal and welcoming place to relax while observing the starry sky and try to identify the sounds and signs left by its inhabitants. Easy route, also suitable for families with children.

A wonderful opportunity to enjoy an exceptional sunset on one of the wildest beaches in Tuscany. A short route allows you to reach the Collelungo tower and enjoy the sunset from one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the area. We will then go down to the now deserted beach to take a nice swim while an aperitif based on local wine will be set up.

Toast at sunset in Castelmarino

Tuesday: 27 June, 11 July, 25 July, 8 August, 22 August, 5 September from 7pm to 11pm

An experience to remember: toast with a good local wine while observing the sunset from the cliff of Castel Marino, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Maremma. The itinerary will take us to one of the oldest towers in the park and then descend to the wild beach of Collelungo to take a suggestive night swim in a magical atmosphere.

San Rabanus with the archaeologist

Torre Bassa and Collecchio Castle

Friday: 23 June, 7 July, 21 July, 4 August, 18 August, 1 September, 15 September, 29 September from 4.30pm to 7.30pm

We will walk through olive groves and woods in the central part of the Uccellina Mountains. The route, simple but suggestive, will take us up to the Torre Bassa, ruined and majestic, which tells of distant times and the raids of pirates. On the way back we will pass by fences of Maremma cattle that live in the wild in the beautiful nature of the Collecchio.

Sunrise in the Park with breakfast

Monday: 17 July, 14 August, 11 September

Appointment in the night to enjoy the sunrise in one of the most enchanting panoramic points of the Maremma Park: Paggio’s roof terrace with corks. The path winds through olive groves, strawberry tree woods and holm oaks with intense scents, we will pass next to the beautiful Torre Bassa and then we will climb up to the top of Poggio alle Sugherine where, going up on the roof terrace, we will be able to admire the spectacular panorama of the woods as far as the eye can see. eye, on the coast and the Tuscan islands. Here we will stop for the continental breakfast, organized by the Tenuta dell’Uccellina. After that we will continue descending towards the sea to Cala Salto del Cervo for a dip in the crystal clear waters not reached by mass tourism.
