Il percorso prosegue in salita in localit\\u00e0 Vergheria, nome che ricorda le grandi capanne stagionali erette dai pastori transumanti che portavano qui i loro greggi di pecore fra settembre e maggio.&nbsp;<\\\/span><br><\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>La prima parte dell\\u2019itinerario si snoda fra grandi uliveti impiantati dai Lorena nell\\u2019Ottocento e ampliati negli anni Trenta del Novecento, oggi in pi\\u00f9 punti invasi dalla macchia mediterranea, dove le pecore potevano pascolare assicurando in cambio il diserbo e la concimazione del terreno.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Da quando c\\u2019\\u00e8 il Parco le pecore non ci sono pi\\u00f9, e al loro posto pascolano caprioli, cinghiali, istrici e soprattutto daini, che avvicinandosi in silenzio \\u00e8 relativamente facile avvistare, soprattutto nelle prime ore del mattino e verso il tramonto.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>La parte centrale dell\\u2019itinerario attraversa la fitta macchia di leccio dell\\u2019antica riserva di caccia, dove la strada comincia a scendere e porta allo splendido uliveto monumentale di Collelungo, di oltre 400 anni, uno dei pi\\u00f9 antichi uliveti della Toscana. Oggi anche questo \\u00e8 un pascolo per gli animali selvatici, ma in certi periodi anche per le vacche maremmane, come vediamo dalla chioma dei grandi ulivi perfettamente pareggiata proprio all\\u2019altezza del morso di questi animali.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Davanti a noi si scorge la torre di Collelungo, mentre sulla destra un belvedere si affaccia a strapiombo sulla magnifica Serrata dei Cavalleggeri, una grande radura dove un tempo si radunavano bovini e cavalli maremmani, e poi sull\\u2019immensa pineta granducale.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Da qui una breve discesa conduce alla grande duna alla base della falesia di Collelungo. Attraversiamo la duna, e siamo su una delle spiagge pi\\u00f9 belle d\\u2019Italia.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Il percorso ha delle salite piuttosto impegnative e discese ardite da affrontare con la massima cautela, a velocit\\u00e0 moderata.&nbsp;<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Sono consentiti massimo 150 ingressi al giorno.<\\\/p>\",\"en\":\"<p><span style=\\\"font-family: inherit;\\\">The Strada degli Ulivi follows a very ancient route that connected the internal plain with the Collelungo Tower and the sea. The route starts from the intersection of the cycle path with the road of the olive trees. The route continues uphill in the locality of Vergheria, a name that recalls the large seasonal huts erected by transhumant shepherds who brought their flocks of sheep here between September and May.<\\\/span><br><\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>The first part of the itinerary winds through large olive groves planted by the Lorenas in the 19th century and expanded in the 1930s, today in several places invaded by Mediterranean scrub, where sheep could graze, ensuring in exchange the weeding and fertilization of the land.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Since the Park was created, the sheep have no longer been there, and in their place roe deer, wild boars, porcupines and above all fallow deer graze, which if you approach in silence it is relatively easy to spot, especially in the early hours of the morning and towards sunset.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>The central part of the itinerary crosses the dense holm oak scrub of the ancient hunting reserve, where the road begins to descend and leads to the splendid monumental olive grove of Collelungo, over 400 years old, one of the oldest olive groves in Tuscany. Today this too is a pasture for wild animals, but in certain periods also for Maremma cows, as we see from the foliage of the large olive trees perfectly trimmed precisely at the height of the bite of these animals.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>In front of us we can see the Collelungo tower, while on the right a belvedere overlooks the magnificent Serrata dei Cavalleggeri, a large clearing where Maremma cattle and horses once gathered, and then onto the immense grand ducal pine forest.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>From here a short descent leads to the large dune at the base of the Collelungo cliff. follows a very ancient route that connected the internal plain with the Collelungo Tower and the sea. The route starts from the intersection of the cycle path with the road of the olive trees. The route continues uphill in the locality of Vergheria, a name that recalls the large seasonal huts erected by transhumant shepherds who brought their flocks of sheep here between September and May.<\/span><br><\/p>\r\n<p>The first part of the itinerary winds through large olive groves planted by the Lorenas in the 19th century and expanded in the 1930s, today in several places invaded by Mediterranean scrub, where sheep could graze, ensuring in exchange the weeding and fertilization of the land.<\/p>\r\n<p>Since the Park was created, the sheep have no longer been there, and in their place roe deer, wild boars, porcupines and above all fallow deer graze, which if you approach in silence it is relatively easy to spot, especially in the early hours of the morning and towards sunset.<\/p>\r\n<p>The central part of the itinerary crosses the dense holm oak scrub of the ancient hunting reserve, where the road begins to descend and leads to the splendid monumental olive grove of Collelungo, over 400 years old, one of the oldest olive groves in Tuscany. Today this too is a pasture for wild animals, but in certain periods also for Maremma cows, as we see from the foliage of the large olive trees perfectly trimmed precisely at the height of the bite of these animals.<\/p>\r\n<p>In front of us we can see the Collelungo tower, while on the right a belvedere overlooks the magnificent Serrata dei Cavalleggeri, a large clearing where Maremma cattle and horses once gathered, and then onto the immense grand ducal pine forest.<\/p>\r\n<p>From here a short descent leads to the large dune at the base of the Collelungo cliff. We cross the dune, and we are on one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy.<\/p>\r\n<p>The route has some rather challenging climbs and daring descents to be tackled with the utmost caution, at a
