Si giunge cos\\u00ec al muro che un tempo separava i coltivi dai boschi della riserva di caccia della Tenuta dell\\u2019Alberese.<\\\/span><br><\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Il primo tipo di bosco che si incontra \\u00e8 quello del fondovalle, dal suolo profondo, fertile e umido, che permette la crescita di grandi querce, non solo lecci ma anche essenze di ambienti meno secchi come cerri, ornielli e roverelle, oltre ad altre specie tipicamente mediterranee come sughere e terebinti. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Presto per\\u00f2 il sentiero comincia a salire su un suolo calcareo meno profondo, dove il bosco \\u00e8 ormai dominato leccio, un albero che qui come lungo tutte le coste del Mediterraneo viene periodicamente tagliato da tempo immemorabile per la legna con la quale fare il carbone. Qui, per\\u00f2, la lecceta \\u00e8 stata diradata per farne un bosco d\\u2019alto fusto, e torni un giorno ad assomigliare la foresta mediterranea primigenia. La salita \\u00e8 piuttosto erta ma breve, e pi\\u00f9 si sale, pi\\u00f9 i lecci sono giovani e bassi, e ancora governati a ceduo.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Giunti a un bell\\u2019esemplare di ginepro rosso, il sentiero comincia a scendere per una discesa piuttosto ripida, ma anche questa molto breve.<\\\/p>\",\"en\":\"<p><span style=\\\"font-family: inherit;\\\">After having skirted a grove of small cork trees which have now gone wild on one side, and a very tidy new grove of fruit trees, vines and olive trees, the route goes up through an ancient olive grove, now abandoned and invaded by cistus, a semi-open environment perfect for the sighting of deer. This leads to the wall that once separated the cultivated fields from the woods of the Tenuta dell'Alberese hunting reserve.<\\\/span><br><\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>The first type of forest you encounter is that of the valley floor, with deep, fertile and humid soil, which allows the growth of large oaks, not only holm oaks but also essences of less dry environments such as turkey oaks, ash ash and downy oaks, as well as other species typically Mediterranean such as cork oaks and terebinths.<\\\/p>\\r\\n<p>Soon, however, the path begins to climb onto shallower limestone soil, where the forest is now dominated by holm oak, a tree which here, as along all the Mediterranean coasts, has been periodically cut down since time immemorial for the wood with which to make charcoal. Here, however, the holm oak forest has been thinned out to make it a tall forest, and one day it will return to resembling the primeval Mediterranean forest. style=\"font-family: inherit;\">After having skirted a grove of small cork trees which have now gone wild on one side, and a very tidy new grove of fruit trees, vines and olive trees, the route goes up through an ancient olive grove, now abandoned and invaded by cistus, a semi-open environment perfect for the sighting of deer. This leads to the wall that once separated the cultivated fields from the woods of the Tenuta dell'Alberese hunting reserve.<\/span><br><\/p>\r\n<p>The first type of forest you encounter is that of the valley floor, with deep, fertile and humid soil, which allows the growth of large oaks, not only holm oaks but also essences of less dry environments such as turkey oaks, ash ash and downy oaks, as well as other species typically Mediterranean such as cork oaks and terebinths.<\/p>\r\n<p>Soon, however, the path begins to climb onto shallower limestone soil, where the forest is now dominated by holm oak, a tree which here, as along all the Mediterranean coasts, has been periodically cut down since time immemorial for the wood with which to make charcoal. Here, however, the holm oak forest has been thinned out to make it a tall forest, and one day it will return to resembling the primeval Mediterranean forest. The climb is rather steep but short, and the higher you go, the younger and lower the holm oaks are, and still governed by coppice.<\/p>\r\n<p>Having reached a beautiful example of red juniper, the
